SHOOTING NEWS 2007
T15 / His Majesty Minor, France
An All-Terrain Techno 15 for director Jean Jacques Annaud.

A Loumasystems Techno 15 (15’ telescopic portable crane) has been used all along the whole production of “His Majesty Minor”, the new Jean Jacques Annaud mythological comedy, superbly photographed by D.o.P Jean Marie Dreujou (Two Brothers, The Girl on the Bridge).
Most of the production sets were remote, wild, steep hills by the sea side near Alicante (Spain). The small weight and high portability of the Techno 15 has been a real asset for the production and the cinematographers have been able to keep a full control on the camera mobility thanks to the Loumasystems crane. The Techno 15 has notably been used on the opening sequence where the camera flies above several sleepy pigs until it reaches a close up of the main character, Minor, impersonated by actor Jose Garcia.
ST50 / 99 francs, France
A Supertechno 50 fulfils director Jan Kounen high energy vision.

Several Loumasystems cranes have been used by director Jan Kounen (Doberman, Renegade) on several sequences of its last feature: 99Francs.
For the coverage of the opening and closing sequence where the main character commit suicide in jumping from a high rise building, the highly visual and creative director was looking for a crane capable of following the fall of the actor along multiple angles. Loumasystems has been able to fulfil the director demand through the use of one of its Supertechno 50 which has covered the action against green screen, models or Translite backgrounds.
To add to the challenge, the scene was happening under artificial rain and it is equipped of its telescopic rain cover that the Loumasytems crane has been used.
Louma 2 / Pink Panther 2, France
Louma 2 helps Jacques Clouseau on Pink Panther 2

The director and operator of the new remake of the classic comedy needed a telescopic crane for their Parisian coverage of the new adventures of the famous inspector.
Having to shoot in busy streets at the very heart of Paris, a stone’s throw from the president Sarkozy’s palace, the production and the cinematographers had a very tight schedule and were looking for fast and efficient ways of shooting. The answer came naturally from the new Louma 2 crane, a new generation, time saving, telescopic crane which is computer assisted.
Not only is the Louma 2 saving time through the help of its network which facilitate the coordination between the different axis of the crane (Pan and Tilt of the arm, of the head, Telescope, etc.), therefore reducing the number of takes, but it is also very fast to set up, down to 30 minutes with an experienced crew.

ABC-120 / Pleyel, France
The ABC-120 lightweight crane flies above pianist Lang Lang

One ABC-120 lightweight crane from Loumasystems has been used in « Salle Pleyel » for the inauguration of the « Orchestre de Paris » new season, starring the famous pianist Lang Lang. Director Elizabeth Preschey had a serious problem : how could she cover at best the performance of the famous pianist without disturbing the audience. Her problem has been solved through the use of one ABC-120 lightweight crane, installed on tracks on the balcony of the prestigious concert hall. The extreme lightness and thin profile of the crane with its 30 feet long arm and its short rear section has allowed the director to place her camera at close range of the hands of the young prodigy, without being in the way of the public eyesight.
ST30 / Private Fears in Public Places, France
The Supertechno 30 offers a birdeye view for Alain Resnais

For its last feature « Private fears in public places », Alain Resnais wanted a zenithal point of view for a sequence where one of the protagonists organizes a visit of the various rooms of an apartment. The problem has been solved thanks to a Loumasystems Supertechno 30 installed on tracks on the outside of the walls of the stage set. The crane has allowed following from above the progress of the actors all along their visit of the apartment.
